The world has seen an increase in the number of natural and manmade disasters over the last few years.  These include hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, terrorist attacks, civil unrest, and most recently global pandemics.  Throughout all these events, survival often depends on adequate preparation.  Even if it’s not life and death, it’s important to ensure the comfort and security for individuals and families.

There are a few reasons why most people are not prepared:

• Denial - A general feeling that “if bad things happen, they won’t happen to me “
• Dependency - If something does happen “my city, state, or government will immediately provide the help I need”
• Knowledge – It’s hard to know how to get prepared – “where do I even start”
• Cost - With all the other financial priorities, prepping for these events can be expensive. Based on these factors, most people never get a plan together.  If you live in the suburbs or large city, chances are you are even less likely to be prepared

UrbanPrepp was started to help address these challenges. When we started looking to create our own emergency plan for our families, we found a number of online sites cluttered with hundreds of products. It was also very expensive. We didn’t need to stock up for a year of food and supplies in our bunker, just the first few days until help arrives or we can figure out a longer-term plan. UrbanPrepp strives to simplify the prepping space while making it affordable. We want to ensure everyone is prepared to get through the first 72 hours of any emergency.

Disadvantaged communities are often the least prepared and most impacted during emergencies and disasters.  UrbanPrepp is committed to donating a percentage of proceeds to disaster relief and these communities.
